The New York Islanders fired Ted Nolan last month and have been interviewing a number of candidates recently. There was really no reason given besides the usual, “going in another direction” and “disagreed in personnel moves” standard press release fodder. So far the Isles have interviewed Bryan Trottier, Scott Gordon, Mike Sullivan, John Tortorella and Bob Hartley.

There are a number of NHL players who I can't stand. In fact, there are probably more players I dislike than like. One of my least favorite players is former New York Islanders goalie Billy Smith. Long time PuckHog Blog reader Kevin Kepple is a HUGE Billy Smith fan and I hope this list pisses him off.
