There is not that much going on in the NHL right now. We are still a few weeks away from the players reporting to camp and the first pre-season games are starting in late September. With college football kicking off this weekend (Go Heels) at least we know hockey is right around the corner.

Still no word on where Mats Sundin will play next season. Vancouver and Toronto seem to be the front-runners, but there are some rumblings that he might retire or head to Sweden. I still don’t see him leaving that much money on the table.
At the trade deadline there was a ton of speculation about Mats Sundin. The Toronto Maple Leaf center was asked to waive his no-trade clause and accept a trade to Detroit, the New York Rangers and possibly Vancouver. He declined.
