The Pittsburgh Penguins signed forward Matt Cooke to a two-year contract on Saturday. The deal is 2-years for $1.2 million a season. He can fill a role as a penalty killer as well as take over as the team "pest."

TSN is reporting that the Tampa Bay Lightning are attempting to trade Dan Boyle. The Lightning have been on a free agent signing tear since the Free Agency period opened. Their overpaying for Ryan Malone, Gary Roberts, Radim Vrbata and Olaf Kolzig has put them in a tough spot and they need to trade yet another of their core players.

TSN is reporting that Jaromir Jagr has agreed to a deal with the a team in Russia. The Russian hockey team Avangard Omsk announced it has signed the former New York Rangers star late Friday. Jagr won two cups with Pittsburgh early in his career, but failed to follow them up with cups in Washington or New York.
