The Pittsburgh Penguins signed forward Matt Cooke to a two-year contract on Saturday. The deal is 2-years for $1.2 million a season. He can fill a role as a penalty killer as well as take over as the team "pest."

Their overpaying for Ryan Malone, Gary Roberts, Radim Vrbata and Olaf Kolzig has put them in a tough spot and they need to trade yet another of their core players.
TSN is reporting that Jaromir Jagr has agreed to a deal with the a team in Russia. The Russian hockey team Avangard Omsk announced it has signed the former New York Rangers star late Friday.
