A Few Quick Hits From Around the Hockey World

Is it time for NHL training camps yet? Not a ton going on in the NHL right now aside from the inevitable trade of Bryan McCabe and Mats Sundin announcing where/if/when he will play next season.
A Few Quick Hits From Around the Hockey World
Ladislav Nagy is the most recent player to sign with the Russian KHL. After 3 seasons with 20 goals each, Nagy has slowed down and just notched 21 goals in the last 3 seasons. I do not see his moving to the KHL as a loss for any NHL team. One player who signed with the KHL who could have an impact is Alexander Radulov. This former first round draft pick (15th overall in 2004) scored 26 goals last season for Nashville and has 95 points in 145 NHL games. The KHL had offered the NHL compensation for signing him away while he was under contract, but Bettman declined. Time will tell if more decent NHL players will head to Russia. So far, not many have decided to play in the Euro leagues (unless they can’t get an NHL or AHL deal).
Bryan McCabe is rumored to be heading to Florida after September 1st. There are some interesting rumors as to what the Leafs will get in return. One has the Leafs getting Wade Belak back along with Brett McLean. The other, and more realistic is Stephen Weiss and a 2nd round pick.
Who knew that JR knew all the words to “It’s Tricky”
