More Quick Hits from Around the NHL

Still no word on where Mats Sundin will play next season. Vancouver and Toronto seem to be the front-runners, but there are some rumblings that he might retire or head to Sweden. I still don’t see him leaving that much money on the table.
The goaltender situation this fall will be interesting. The “Bulin Wall” is under contract until the end of this season. They have made no indication as to which net minder will be between the pipes this season. With Khabibulin becoming a free agent after this season, I imagine he will be traded. His $6.75 Million contract is a turn-off for many teams, but he will get more attractive as the season progresses. A team with goaltending needs might take a shot at him at the deadline.
The Carolina Hurricanes are finally listening to their fan base. They added a number of afternoon games this season. It amazes me how many teams start games so late and rarely have early games. They will sell at least 2,000 more tickets for a 5pm start than they would a 7pm start as more children will be able to attend the games.
After a trying off-season, the Penguins will have a much easier time next season. The only players of consequence who will need to be re-signed will be Letang and Stall. There is some talk of Stall wanting $4 Million a year, but I think he will sign for around $2.5 Million.
Much thanks to Puck Daddy who picked up our Post about sexy hockey siren Kathleen Edwards.
